I started doing the CEO Health Coach system because I was training doing the Polar Race, which has been billed as the world’s toughest race, a 350 mile trek across the arctic, in snow shoes, pulling a 200 pound sled.

Theresa Dugwell

Theresa Dugwell is a Guinness World Record Holder in the category “greatest distance run in 12 hours on a treadmill”, establishing a Women’s Record, and the Overall Record for that timeframe, one of the few instances where a woman has a better record than a man.

An avid runner, she has completed 20 marathons, and has coached and trained numerous former non-marathoners into becoming full-fledged marathoners. She was the 2010 YMCA Volunteer of the Year at Canada’s largest YMCA, and served two years as Chair of the Board, coordinating hundreds of volunteers and helping raise over a $1 million for the Y’s charitable activities, by conceiving, organizing, and executing many of its successful multi-participant wellness programs, including Catch the Spirit, the Y Games, and the Breakfast of Champions, with thousands of individuals participating and energized by the experience.

Theresa has run several medical and dental clinics during her career. She has her Master’s in Psychology, and runs a company that offers psychological assessment services. Theresa is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. She works in the area of applied psychophysiology, using biofeedback and neurofeedback modalities to build mental resilience through better regulation of the stress response.

She mentors executives to achieve a healthy lifestyle through mind-body fitness. She is a member of the Canadian Fitness Professionals Association, and is a Certified Life Skills Coach and Facilitator, a Certified Spinning and Pilates Instructor and a Fitness Instructor Specialist.

She is the co-author of the book, Power Source for Women: Proven Fitness Strategies, Tools, and Success Stories for Women 45+. It is based on the idea that fitness provides a way for women to gain a sense of control over their attitudes, body, and life.

She is a founding member of the North York YMCA Women’s Fund, a program that assists women and children in shelters. This program provides YMCA memberships to women during a critical life-transition, giving them access to a place of community, health, and support for personal growth.

She has given workshops on The Impact of Stress on Peak Performance, Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace, Creativity and Self-Esteem, Start Running for Fitness, and the Psychophysiology of the Stress Response.

In addition, she is the Associate Producer for the independent Canadian feature films Blueprint & Freedom. Theresa also has a small role in the movie Freedom, and is currently producing and performing her first song, featuring Liberty Silver and Glass Tiger front-man Alan Frew.
